I am pretty sure I wouldn't want to meet him in the river. I didn't know that they could hold their breath that long. I think I can only hold my breath for about 30 seconds!
I agree with your mum and dad, I wouldn't want to meet a Nile crocodile. But, maybe, it wouldn't be hungry because it has already eaten so many people. Just think if a crocodile ate hundreds of people, I bet it would get awful fat.
